From Cages to Condos: Help us Modernize Hendricks County Cat Housing!
Replacing aging, single cages with 36 modern Fear Free suites designed for comfort, healing, and quicker adoptions at the Hendricks County Animal Shelter.
Why This Matters (The Quick Facts)
The Current Need
Aging Housing: Over 60% of our current shelter cat cages are worn out, rusted, and being retired.
Shelter Stress: Cramped, single-box cages trigger feline anxiety and lower immune resistance.
Medical Costs: Upper Respiratory Infections (URI) cost $200–$400 per sick cat in care and delay adoption.
The Fear Free Solution
36 Direct Suites: Modern commercial units built with non-porous, medical-grade materials designed to last.
Dual-Zone Living: Separate living and litter areas keep food, resting perches, and waste isolated for true hygiene.

If you're searching for a skilled and compassionate dog trainer, we wholeheartedly recommend Mavis K9 Academy. For years, Greg has been an invaluable asset to the Hendricks County Animal Shelter, generously donating his time and expertise to train and socialize our dogs. His dedication goes above and beyond. He frequently brings hard-to-adopt dogs to his own location for intensive training, offering them a crucial reprieve from the shelter environment and dramatically increasing their chances of adoption. Greg, your expertise is truly a gift to these deserving animals. Thank you for everything you do!
