Support Rescues
We also encourage you to look at our Local Rescues, as they often care for pets in foster homes until they find a family.
Responsible pet ownership keeps our entire community safer and healthier. You can help reduce shelter overcrowding and give every animal the chance they deserve by taking these simple, crucial steps:
Spay & Neuter Your Pets: Spaying and neutering prevents unwanted litters and reduces overcrowding in shelters. It also helps your pet live a longer, healthier life. Check out Hendricks County Human Society (HCHS) for low cost spay/neuter options!
Microchip & ID Your Pets: A collar and tag are great, but microchipping gives lost pets the best chance to be reunited with their families.
Keep Vaccinations Up to Date: Vaccines protect your pets—and the pets they meet—against deadly diseases like parvo and rabies.
Don't Dump Your Pets: Abandoning animals is illegal and dangerous. If you're struggling, local groups can help with food, supplies, or rehoming options.
